We spent a good and productive day on Horizen today, beginning with David Wallin’s climb aloft to investigate why the deck light and anchor light don’t work.

Turns out the anchor light on the top of the mast is toast and that we’ll have to jury rig something until we have enough work to pull the boat out of the water and take the whole mast down. The deck light may only need a bulb, but LFS didn’t have the one we needed.

David did some more of the teak refinishing inside the cabin, I removed the alcohol stove and made ready for the new propane stove, Peter installed a new stern light, and then Peter and Craig Cooper took off the old roller furler and connected the new one.

There is a problem with the new one’s rubber cap on the “extrusion” part; it doesn’t seem to fit right. So, the job wasn’t completed, and we’ll have to call the manufacturer to see what the problem is.

The weather was mild. All in all a good Valentine’s Day, each of us spending the day with our true love: sailing.
