Boy, do I miss reading the Weekly World News. It was my favorite newspaper to read aloud. But over the last couple of years, it’s become rather yucky, with sexist comments and “Page 5″ girls. There are still aliens and the Ed Anger column, but … geez.
Some of the old issues I have are classics, though.

Why do you miss it? Isn’t still available at every checkstand in the world? Even Haggen? How can you live without knowing what Bat Boy is up to?

Oh, yeah. I do keep up with Bat Boy at the checkout counter. Give me stories about aliens, ax murderers, cannibals, freaks, Republicans, and my favorite columnists, Ed Anger and Ask Dottie. “They wouldn’t print it, if it wasn’t true!!”
I just don’t buy it any longer because the content has become too creepy for my feminist leanings. Somewhere along the way, they took a turn to make it a little more “sexy.” I’ve lost my interest in shelling out $3 because that sorta stuff doesn’t make me laugh out loud.
